GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) is the EU’s privacy regulation. The regulation was incorporated into Norwegian law through reference in the new Personal Data Act and came into force in Norway on 20th July 2018. The GDPR is partly a continuation, partly a modernisation, and partly a tightening of previously existing privacy legislation.

The processing of personal data is based on GDPR Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests).

Why We Collect Personal Data and What Information We Collect

If you use the contact form or other forms on our website, we process the information to follow up on your enquiry. The enquiry will be stored in our system for as long as we find it appropriate, or until you ask us to delete the information.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will store your email address and the time of subscription. The information will remain in our systems as long as you subscribe to the newsletter.

To gather information about the use of our website, we utilise cookies. You can read more about cookies and which ones we use here. We process personal data based on a balancing of interests. We have assessed that it is necessary for us to do this to tailor the website to its visitors.

Who We Share Personal Data With

Our IT service providers may have access to personal data if such data is stored with the provider or is otherwise available to them under our contract. The providers act in accordance with a data processing agreement and under our instructions. They may only use personal data for the purposes we have determined and as described in this privacy policy.

Access to personal data is otherwise limited to personnel who need access to perform their duties.

We do not disclose personal data in other instances or in ways not described in this privacy policy unless you explicitly request or consent to it, or if disclosure is required by law.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the website from which the embedded content originates. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Google Web Fonts

To present a uniform appearance across our website, we use web fonts provided by Google. When you open a page, your browser loads the required fonts into your browser cache.

Retention Period

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

Retention for a specified period is deemed necessary for both your sake and ours, as questions may arise later where the stored information becomes relevant again. The legal basis for processing personal data is GDPR Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests) and GDPR Article 9(2)(f) (establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims), cf. the Personal Data Act (new 2018) § 11.

For example, personal data obtained via web forms will be deleted after we have addressed your enquiry. See also the retention period of cookies in the cookie declaration.

IT Operations

Personal data stored in our IT systems may be accessible to us or our providers in connection with system updates, implementation or follow-up of security measures, error correction, or other maintenance. The legal basis is GDPR Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests) and our legal obligation to maintain satisfactory information security, cf. GDPR Articles 32 and 6(1)(c).

Security

We have established procedures to handle personal data securely. These measures are both technical and organisational. We regularly assess the security of all central systems used for handling personal data, and agreements obligate providers of such systems to ensure satisfactory information security.

We have adopted internal IT guidelines and regularly train employees regarding security and the use of IT systems.

Your Rights Regarding Your Personal Data

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we process about you. We will, as far as possible, comply with a request to delete personal data, but we cannot do so if there are compelling reasons not to, such as the need to retain data for documentation purposes.

You also have the right to request restricted processing, object to the processing, and request data portability. You can read more about these rights on the Data Protection Authority’s website: www.datatilsynet.no.

To exercise your rights, send a request to sales@magtech.no. We will respond to your enquiry as soon as possible, and no later than within 30 days.

We may ask you to confirm your identity or provide additional information before allowing you to exercise your rights with us. This is to ensure that we only grant access to your personal data to you—and not someone impersonating you.

You may withdraw your consent for the processing of personal data at any time. The easiest way to do this is by contacting us at sales@magtech.no.

Complaints

If you believe that our processing of personal data does not comply with what we have described here or violates privacy legislation in other ways, you can lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority. However, we encourage you to contact us first so that we can address your concerns and clarify any misunderstandings.

Changes

If there are changes to our services or amendments to the regulations governing personal data processing, this may result in changes to the information provided here. If we have your contact details, we will notify you of these changes. Updated information will always be readily available on our website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics for traffic measurement and analysis of user behaviour and content. This enables us to provide better information to you when you visit our website. All user data collected by Google is anonymised.
